About the Media Center

 

Hours and Visits: The media center operates on an open/flexible schedule.  Students may visit the media center individually, in small groups, or as a class.  Students can check out books until 2:30 p.m. each day. 

 

Student Checkouts: Books may be checked out for one week at a time. Checkout limits are as follows: Pre-K, K, and 1st grade – 1 book, 2ndgrade – 2 books, 3rd, 4th and 5th grade—3 books. If a student damages a book that he/she has checked out, they will be required to pay a fine for the damage. Damage includes ink or crayon marks, tearing of pages, water damage, etc. If a student checks out a book and loses it, they will be responsible for the cost of the book.  Overdue notices will be sent out on a weekly basis.

 

Computer Use: There are 10 computers in the Media Center for student and teacher use. Students must have permission from their teacher to use the computers or the printer.

 

 

 

Accelerated Reader Books: All AR books are arranged by reading levels. The levels are indicated by various colored circles or stars located on the spine of the book.
