Four Griffin-Spalding County Schools (GSCS) have made improvements and exited one of the three federal school identification lists according to the Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE). The Georgia lists, which are generated by multiple factors that contribute to the annual CCRPI results, are Comprehensive Support and Improvement (CSI), Targeted Support and Improvement (TSI), and Additional Targeted Support and Improvement (ATSI). The four GSCS schools were on the TSI list last year for low performance in the students with disabilities subgroup.

The schools exiting the TSI list are Jackson Road Elementary School, Carver Road Middle School, Cowan Road Middle School and Kennedy Road Middle School.

Interim Superintendent Dr. Donald Warren said, “We are moving in the right direction in GSCS. The school leaders, faculty, staff and students at these four schools are to be commended for their hard work and significant improvement.”

“Exiting the TSI list is a significant achievement,” said Executive Director of Teacher and Leader Effectiveness Tracy Sims. “These schools have demonstrated measurable growth in student achievement. We will continue to work closely with GaDOE and utilize data-driven decision-making and targeted supports to foster continuous improvement as we strive for excellence.”
