The Griffin-Spalding County School System has tentatively adopted a millage rate that will require an increase in property taxes by 3.35 percent.

All concerned citizens are invited to the public hearing on this tax increase to be held at the Griffin-Spalding County School System Boardroom (216 South 6th Street, Griffin, GA) on September 29, 2026, at 10 AM and 6 PM.

Times and places of additional public hearings on this tax increase are at the Griffin-Spalding County School System Boardroom, 216 South 6th Street, Griffin, GA on October 6, 2026 at 3:30 PM.

This tentative increase will result in a millage rate of 16.393 mills, an increase of .532 mills. Without this tentative tax increase, the millage rate will be no more than 15.861 mills. The proposed tax increase for a home with a fair market value of $100,000.00 is approximately $21.28 and the proposed tax increase for nonhomestead property with a fair market value of $125,000.00 is approximately $26.60.
