Yesterday, GSCS Superintendent Dr. Simmons had his first Teacher Advisory Council meeting of this school year with all of the 2024-25 School-Level Teachers of the Year. They had great food and conversations about this year's successes so far and the desired successes for the remainder of the year. Wings & Wisdom!

Today, November 11th is the deadline for purchasing tickets for the Thanksgiving Lunch on Thursday. All tickets must be paid for today so the cafeteria will know how much food to prepare. We can't wait to see you on Thursday!

Family Notification of Student Survey (3rd -5th grade students only)
Dear Parent or Guardian,
We are writing to inform you about a new student survey that will be conducted at your child’s school. The survey, which will be open from November 18, 2024 through March 13, 2025, includes 27 questions. It should take students approximately 10 minutes to complete, and it asks about the quality of teaching and learning, the school environment, support for students, and how commonly students in the school face challenges (such as being bullied). Names cannot be tied to survey answers in any way, and students can skip any question. The data will help leaders improve the school.
The Protection of Pupil Rights Amendment (PPRA), 20 U.S.C. § 1232(c)(1)(A) gives you the right to review a copy of the student survey questions. If you are planning on coming, please send this form and your money to school as soon as possible. Last evening GSCS held a town hall meeting to open a conversation about students’ cell phone use in school. Do cell phones compliment students' educational experience or create conflict? Please complete the survey questions and answer the primary question in the Thought Exchange then please rate at least ten of the thoughts that others have shared. If the thought is something you believe has merit and should be further discussed rate it a four or a five.
