We want to give a big shout out to our 2025 Reading Bowl team!! Our team proudly placed 4th in the competition. Participants spend months reading and analyzing books, memorizing details, and preparing for intense question rounds.Their hard work, teamwork, and perseverance shined as they competed against other schools, demonstrating both their knowledge and passion for reading.

GSCS is hosting a Classified Employee Job Fair on Thursday, Feb. 27, at 277 E. Poplar St. from 3-5 p.m. If you are interested in school nutrition, maintenance, transportation and more, please attend!


Pre-K Families, Get Ready! GSCS Pre-K registration for the 2025-26 school year will be held February 24-March 14. Students must be 4 years old on or before Sept. 1, 2025, to be eligible. Free EED Screenings will be held on February 26.

On February 24th, Beaverbrook Elementary School is striving for 100% Attendance, as we return from Mid-Winter Break! All students who attend school on February 24th will earn a piece of duct tape to help duct tape Mr. McGavin to the wall! It will take all students to keep him stuck in place!


It has been an exciting few weeks for our Beaverbrook 5th graders! Makenzie Justice represented our school at the GSCS Social Studies Fair, won 2nd place, and will now be headed to the Regional Social Studies Fair! Bentley Mendez participated in the Griffin RESA Regional Literacy Days competition, and won 3rd place for Poetry Recitation! Congratulations to both of these students! Thank you for representing The Brook so well!
