GSCS Graduation Rates Increase at All High Schools! The 2025 high school graduation rate for the Griffin-Spalding County School System (GSCS) rose to 90.9 percent from 84.7 percent last year. The Georgia Department of Education released scores this week for all Georgia high schools. The state's graduation rate increased to 87.2 percent, up from 85.4 percent in the previous year. Spalding High School’s graduation rate rose to 88 percent from 83.5 percent, Griffin High increased to 93.4 percent from 85.8 percent and A.Z. Kelsey Academy increased from 87 percent to 91.7 percent. Read more: https://5il.co/3qiay

The Griffin-Spalding Partners in Education (PIE) raised almost $25,000 during its 24th annual golf tournament to benefit the teachers and students of the Griffin-Spalding County School System (GSCS). Thirty-six teams played in the tournament held at the City Park Golf Course on Friday, September 26. Proceeds from the tournament are used to fund classroom grants, field trip grants and teacher tuition reimbursement scholarships. This year’s first-place team was SRS Inc.; the second-place team was Jackson Road Elementary; and the third-place team was the Griffin Exchange Club. Read more: https://5il.co/3qh4a

This week, Dino the Dalmatian from Griffin Fire visited all elementary schools to deliver free fair tickets to all students. The Spalding County Kiwanis Fair is September 9-14. Purchase MEGA Tickets (must be purchased by September 9) for unlimited rides at https://www.kiwanisofgriffin.com/2025fair. Proceeds from the fair and the Kiwanianne Korn Dawgs benefit students through scholarships. Thank you, Kiwanis Club of Griffin!




Congratulations to these three recipients of $1,000 Partners In Education Teacher Tuition Reinbursement Scholarships! Kizzy White (Crescent Elementary), Kamilah Gordon (Moore Elementary) and Mignon Shoats (GSCS Enrichment Center) are working hard to further their education as they educate our students. Thank you for all you do!
Attention SHS & FRE Families: The water main repair project, affecting SHS and Futral Road Elementary, has been successfully completed. All school operations will return to normal tomorrow.

The water main break impacting Spalding High School and Futral Road Elementary School will take five to six hours to repair. For parents who would like to check their students out of school, this will be considered an excused absence. For working parents unable to pick your child up from school, we will have bottled water, portable toilets and portable hand washing stations. We will continue normal school activities including regular school lunch and regular dismissal. All after school activities will continue as usual.
