Today, City of Griffin Economic Development Director Jeremy Stratton spoke with GHS personal finance and economics students about how economic development impacts them. The GSCS Federal Programs Department hosted the first District Parent Advisory Council meeting of the 2025-2026 school year on October 28th. The council meets three times a year with the District Family and Community Engagement Specialist to provide input and feedback on district policies. These meetings provide a great opportunity for collaboration between parents and the school system. We invite more parents to join the District Parent Advisory Council. If you are interested in being involved, please contact Dr. LaJuana Love at lajuana.love@gscs.org.

Rehoboth Road Middle School students had an incredible opportunity to visit Southern Crescent Technical College this week for a hands-on introduction to technical education and career pathways. Students explored multiple programs, met instructors and experienced real-world applications of classroom learning. Feedback from both students and teachers has been overwhelmingly positive, with many already expressing new interest in future career options. GSCS appreciates the SCTC staff for organizing such an engaging day and looks forward to the possibility of expanding this experience to all middle schools next year.
